( lemonde.fr )

Many Turks were injured Wednesday evening after the football match between Germany and Turkey, semi-finals of the Euro-2008 in Switzerland by a group of individuals who also smashed the windows of two snack bars Dresden (East Germany), according to police. "I can confirm that two shops were damaged in the district of Dresden Neustadt and that several people were injured," said Thomas Herbst, a spokesman for the police. According to the website of the daily Welt, the attackers were among 30 to 50 and attacked snack bars at the end of the match won by Germany. In Berlin, where more than half a million people had gathered in the centre of the capital to watch the match broadcast on giant screens, police interviewed three hours after the end of the match, claimed to have carried out 13 arrests. "There have been some verbal altercations, but that's all," says Claudia Frank, spokesman for the police.
