The index looks at the teams qualifying for the finals of UEFA EURO 2008TM and the guards are awarded points based on their judgments - the number of points depending on the difficulty of stopping - and the quality their raises. Points are also removed for errors lead to a goal cashed.

After the recent series of friendly matches, the top ranking guards has been completely changed with the emergence of Gregory Coupet in the first position in place of the Croatian Stip Pletikosa, which increased the number three behind Jens Lehmann.

In contrast to Lehmann, Cech has recently been excellent with his club, conceding only two goals in its last seven matches. But in a performance below his usual level and a 2-0 defeat against Poland had a negative impact on its ranking in the CPI.

Two goals conceded, two fractions of a second in a match ninety minutes and Cech almost sort of top ten. The status of a football player is undoubtedly something fragile.
