EURO 2008 INFO

The Swiss coach Kuhn announced Wednesday the final list of 23 players on the team in Switzerland selected for Euro 2008.

The defender Mario Eggimann was ruled out of a pre-list of 26 players like veteran striker Thomas Haberli, called eight days ago to replace Blaise Nkufo wounded.

Mr. Kuhn has called among guards in Eldin Jakupovic to replace Fabio Coltorti, weakened after contracting a virus, which has had to give these a week.

Note that defender Steve von Bergen, who was out of the preselection after a fracture in training, had not been replaced.

Here is the selection of 23 Swiss players:

Goalkeepers: Diego Benaglio, Eldin Jakupovic, Pascal Zuberbühler.

Defenders: Philipp Degen, Johan Djourou, Stéphane Grichting, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Ludovic Magnin, Patrick Müller, Philippe Senderos, Christoph Spycher.

Midfield: Valon Behrami, Ricardo Cabanas, Gelson Fernandes, Benjamin Huggel, Goekhan Inler, Hakan Yakin.

Forwards: Tranquillo Barnetta, Alexander Frei, Eren Derdiyok, Daniel Gygax, Marco Streller, Johan Vonlanthen.
