Turkey defender Gokhan Gonul ruled himself out of next month's European Championship on Saturday because of a foot injury.
The Fenerbahce right back said it will take at least four weeks to recover from the edema in his right foot that was diagnosed earlier this month, Turkish soccer's governing body reported.
Turkey midfielder Hamit Altintop said he has fully recovered after breaking a foot in a friendly against Belarus earlier this year and will be fit for the June 7-29 Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
Turkey coach Fatih Terim called 27 players into a training camp on May 11 and will trim it to 23.
Turkey is in Group A with Portugal, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.
The squad is currently training in Germany and will play a friendly against Uruguay on Sunday. The Turks won their first friendly 1-0 against Slovakia earlier this week.
