Iaquinta only joined Juve last summer from Udinese, however he has had a largely frustrating first season in Turin.  

The 28-year-old has impressed when given the chance, but his opportunities have been limited due to the superb form of Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet.  

Iaquinta has made just nine Serie A starts, scoring eight goals, but his lack of action has led to strong reports that he will leave in the summer.  

Both Roma and especially Napoli have been linked with making a move, with the latter openly declaring their interest last week.  

However Tuttosport says that Iaquinta wants to stay at Juventus next season and fight for his place in the team, despite the fact that competition will be even tougher with the probable arrival of Amauri, and the return of wonderkid Sebastian Giovinco.  

Meanwhile Iaquinta is also working ferociously on his fitness in an attempt to prove to Italy coach Roberto Donadoni that he deserves to go to Euro 2008.  

The forward has missed his club’s last two matches through injury, but next week he will return to training, and should be fit enough to play a part in the final game of the season at Sampdoria on May 18.  

The competition for forward places in the Azzurri squad is the meanest it has been for years, with over 10 players all genuinely in with a chance of being selected.
