Fabio Capello believes that France, Italy and Spain are favourites to win Euro 2008, while Manchester United are his pick for the Champions League and he thinks that AC Milan should not sign Ronaldinho.

The Italian coach of the England national team spoke about a wide range of subjects to Marca and even named his six favourite players at the moment in world football.

With the English not involved in Austria and Switzerland, Capello has tipped three of the favourites to do well at the European Championships this summer, although he did warn against expecting too much from Spain.

"I think that the European Championships will be decided between France, Italy and Spain," he stated. "The Spanish have a crack outfit, but then it was also like that when Emilio Butragueño, Michel and the others of that era played."

There were few surprises when Capello named the six players that he thinks are currently the best in the world: "My top six players in the world at the moment are Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaká, Pato, Cesc and Rooney," he commented.

On the Champions League, the former Real Madrid boss thinks that Sir Alex Ferguson's Red Devils look the best bet to succeed and win the trophy in Moscow next month.

"Manchester United are best placed to win the Champions League. Barcelona are still affected by not winning the league last season," he said.

One thing that may not go down well at one of his former clubs, was the advice that Milan should spent their money elsewhere and not sign Ronaldinho from Barcelona.

"Milan do not need him. They need other types of players," he explained.

Finally, Capello thinks that the Spanish managers in the Premier League are having a very positive effect on the game in England as they encourage more controlled football.

"Rafa Benítez and Juande Ramos have brought the philosophy of touch football and that is good," he concluded.
