Pascal Couchepin today inaugurates the heart of the French capital a site to promote Switzerland and Europe Championship football
Located on the Place du Palais Royal, in front of the Louvre, the "icon" Euro 2008 is in the form of five containers red and white arranged cross-shaped Swiss hosts various events and tourism-oriented.
Like a machine Tinguely, the installation offers a route through a miniature Switzerland and its many facets: its large international companies, research institutes and training, the richness and beauty of its mountain scenery, not to mention football in host cities of Bern, Basel, Geneva and Zurich.
After Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Amsterdam, the 'Icon' imagined by Switzerland Tourism for the promotion of Euro 2008 stopped in Paris for three days. The next step will be Milan, from 20 to 22 May.
The opening meet from 17h00 several players and officials of the federations of Switzerland and France, along with Pascal Couchepin and mayors of some host cities.
