Czech Republic captain Tomas Rosicky has returned to Prague to continue rehabilitation of a lingering injury that threatens his chances to play at this year's European Championship.
The Arsenal midfielder had to be substituted in the first half of an FA Cup match against Newcastle on Jan. 26 and has not played since, and Czech Republic coach Karel Bruckner has said it is unclear whether he will be fit in time for Euro 2008.
Rosicky's absence would be a serious blow for the Czechs chances at the June 7-29 tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
It was unclear what treatment Rosicky would be undergoing in Prague.
"We are not allowed to speak about (Rosicky's injury)," Czech Republic team physician Petr Krejci told the Sport daily Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Rosicky sounded cautiously optimistic on his personal Web site.
"In recent days I have been feeling a little better," he said.
The Web site said the trip was agreed on by Arsenal's management.
The Czech Republic opens at Euro 2008 on June 7 in Basel against Switzerland and also faces Turkey and Portugal in Group A.
