The former Chelsea defender has had to withdraw from Joachim Low’s squad for the friendly clash against Switzerland on Wednesday evening, due to a niggling foot injury.

And although Huth knows he could face a battle against time to convince he is worth a place in the squad for the Finals, he has told Boro’s official club site that he remains hopeful.

"Of course I'm disappointed that I have to delay my comeback," said Huth. "The important thing is to get healthy again as quickly as possible and I think I still have a chance of making the Euro team."
