A huge demand to see UEFA EURO 2008™ in style this summer has resulted in the relocation of the planned VIP section for the fan zone in the Austrian city of Salzburg.
Three venues
Tournament organisers in Salzburg have decided to host VIP guests in three separate
and high-profile venues – the Café Mozart; the inner courtyard of the Neue Residenz building which houses the Salzburg Museum; and the ramparts of the city's Festung Hohensalzburg castle. The VIP area for fans had originally been planned for the square outside the Museum, Mozartplatz (or Mozart Square) – this area will now be given over completely to regular supporters and visitors.
Bigger numbers
Salzburg's host city co-ordinator, Wolfgang Weiss, explained the change of location, saying: "There has been great interest. Whereas before we had proposed a capacity of about 300 in the VIP area, we'll now be able to host a significantly larger number of guests.
