Germany coach Joachim Loew has warned his players that anyone who doesn't work hard on himself will not make it to Euro 2008. Loew, in an interview with Monday's edition of Kicker sports magazine, announced "a very tough cut" when the squad is nominated on May 16 for the June 7-29 tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
He said that every player has received a "strong recommendation" from the coaching staff in which area he has to work.
"From now on we expect weekly feedback from the players as far as their training and their wellbeing is concerned," Loew said.
Loew praised the VfB Stuttgart duo of Thomas Hitzlsperger and Mario Gomez for their good form while others like David Odonkor were not in Euro shape yet.
