More than 8.7 million requests for tickets were filed with the organizers of the Euro 2008 to watch a game in June. Only 1.05 million tickets are available. Approximately 20,000 have already been distributed for payment problems.
Three quarters of the tickets European champion football are intended for supporters, recalled the organisers to 100 days from the beginning of the competition to be held in Switzerland and Austria. The sixteen participating associations have received for each of their matches on average 19% of the stadium.
In Switzerland, Helvètes have rués on admission tickets to matches of the national team. At the end of the week registration in mid-February, 765'000 tickets have been ordered by 278'000 people. But only 16'800 seats available for the three group matches.
A year ago, in March 2007, one third of all tickets available have already been sold via the website of the Euro 2008. As requests for tickets were largely superior to the offer, a raffle was held in the wake.
Some unsuccessful candidates were nominated by a random generator to be placed on a waiting list. THE EURO 2008 annulled requests if irregularities were found at the time to pay for tickets.
Organizers warn of the tickets sold by other unofficial means. Bought at exorbitant prices, the buyer runs the risk of seeing its "open sesame" cancelled. Vendors of these tickets incur up to 5000 euros fine.
