The German Football Federation (DFB) has conducted Wednesday in the draw for the allocation of 14,315 tickets for the talks in the first round of the Euro-2008 (7-29 June) of the German team.
The draw was launched in the presence of a bailiff, by the former German international Steffi Jones, appointed to head the organizing committee of the World-2011 ladies.
During the sales process for a period of one month, the DFB had received more than 2.6 million orders for 14,315 tickets for the meetings of Group B.
The DFB had received a quota of 21,765 tickets for the matches in Germany against Poland on June 8, against Croatia on June 12 and against Austria on June 16. After distributions to players, sponsors and officials of the DFB, 14,315 of these tickets were available for supporters.
The low capacity of stadiums where matches will be held in Germany (in Klagenfurt and Vienna, Austria) raises serious criticism in the country.
"We could fill stadiums Vienna ten times," said Wolfgang Niersbach, the secretary general of the DFB, which said that 524,248 tickets had been ordered for the duel between Germany and Austria.
