Transport in Berne

Airport

Berne Airport (IATA: BRN, ICAO: LSZB), which serves Berne, Switzerland, is actually closer to the village of Belp. It is therefore usually known as Bern Belp. An airport bus runs about once an hour between the airport and Bern Rail Station, tickets are about CHF 15.-. The cheapest option is to take the "Airliner" regional bus from the airport to the railway station in Belp. (The fare is only CHF 3, and buses depart once or twice an hour depending on the time of day.)

Train

Berne SBB,the Swiss Federal Railways, ensure a comfortable onward journey. Bern is connected directly to the international railway network, and is the only European capital city visited by all three high speed trains: the TGV, ICE and Cisalpino.

Travel around

Berne by Bus: Bernmobil, (city transport services). Tram and bus lines are well-networked and extensive. There are regular connections from the main railway station in all directions. Single journeys for zone 1-2 cost CHF 1.90 (valid in one direction for 30 minutes). Tickets for more zones cost CHF 3.20. Tickets can be obtained from the ticket automats (at tram/bus stops).
